For the first time since the Indonesian Grand Prix in September 2024, Jorge Martin once again won a GP this Sunday at the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans. The Spaniard, who has been struggling with serious injuries in recent months but emerged victorious in the sprint on Saturday, is now just one point behind his teammate Marco Bezzecchi overall, who finished second on the day.

The Madrilenian secured Aprilia’s first victory in Le Mans, leading to a triumphant triple win with the third-place finish of Japanese rider Ai Ogura, representing the Trackhouse satellite team and stepping onto the MotoGP podium for the first time in his career. “It’s incredible, I can only say ‘Long live France’! I am so grateful to my loved ones, the team, and the fans, I have no words… It was a fantastic race,” Martin savored after his success.

Zarco couldn’t do anything, a forgettable weekend for Ducati

Rain did not fall in the Sarthe region, preventing the French riders from shining at home. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) still managed a sixth-place finish, his best result of the year, behind Italian rider Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati-VR46), who snatched fourth place in the final lap by overtaking Spanish rider Pedro Acosta (KTM), who finished fifth.

On the other hand, Johann Zarco (Honda-LCR) crossed the checkered flag waved by F1 driver Isack Hadjar in eleventh place. A result far below his expectations, especially after his victory last year in Le Mans under wet conditions.

Pole-sitter Francesco Bagnaia crashed in the 16th lap while under pressure from Pedro Acosta in the battle for the second position at that moment in the race. A weekend to forget for Ducati, which had already lost Marc Marquez to injury the day before in the sprint race.
