The highly anticipated clash lived up to its expectations. Engaged in a battle for the French championship title, Brest Bretagne Handball and Metz Handball delivered an intense match in front of the cameras of beIN SPORTS and HandballTV. With a four-goal deficit in the first leg in Finistère, Metz set a fast pace against BBH. After a tightly contested start, the Dragonnes managed to take the lead on the scoreboard (17-15, HT). In the second half, Lénaïc Grandveau’s partners pushed the Brestois to their limits, leading by 5 goals on the scoreboard. However, the proteges of Raphaëlle Tervel did not give up, showing character to preserve their advantage. In a breathless end to the match, thanks to a decisive save by Camille Depuiset in a one-on-one with Suzanne Wajoka, Brest finished the duel with a four-goal deficit (32-28), but with a higher number of goals scored away from home than Metz.

This result allows Brest Bretagne Handball to maintain the lead in the Butagaz Énergie League at the end of J21. Everything is still possible with five matchdays left in the 2025-2026 season, and Metz must now hope for a slip-up from their rivals to climb to the top spot.
