“If I only talk about my performance, it’s a lot of frustration. However, our other two cars proudly represented our team. We will keep these two performances in mind.” Samuel Gurnaud, president of Team Chaumont Auto Sport (TCAS), prefers to keep a smile on his face after the weekend on the roads of the Rallye de Lorraine, Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3. Out of the three crews involved, two came back with victories in their “class.”

These performances contrast with the bad luck that struck the Chaumont manager behind the wheel of his 106. “We barely covered 250 meters on the first timed special of the race, and our fuel pump gave up: weekend over! Needless to say, the disappointment was huge.”

Fortunately for the team from Chaumont, the context was more favorable for the other two “machines.” Quentin and Constant Houillons, in their 306, secured a “class” win in the “F2000/13” category (23rd overall). After their victory at the last rally in Mouzon Fr&eacuterezelle, the duo repeated their success in Nancy, where the finish line of the Lorraine event was located. “It wasn’t easy. They had to battle hard on Sunday to regain the first place from their direct rivals. But this shows the seriousness and fighting spirit of this crew.”

Samuel Gurnaud could also congratulate K&eacutevin Masson and his co-pilot Cyrielle Matterer-Charlier (41st overall). The duo, in their Twingo, also stepped onto the top of the podium in the “R1” category. “Even if they were only two in their ‘class’ category, the fight was intense throughout the two days. It remains a victory to savor!”

The two winning Chaumont duos will be back behind the wheel in a month, from June 12 to 14, to participate in the Rallye Vosges – Grand Est. “Our two crews will step up to the next level,” specifies the president of TCAS. “It’s a rally of the French championship, the ‘Ligue 1’ of our discipline.”
