The Lannemezanais secured a victory on their home turf at the Boutoulets stadium with their second-half performance which outshone the Soues football. In the first half of the match, both teams matched each other in attacks, with two strong defenses that held firm until halftime. Despite this, there were numerous goal-scoring opportunities. For the visitors, a pass from Fourcade to Da Silva Costa was thwarted by the local goalkeeper, Teyssier. Meanwhile, the hosts pressed the Soues territory with two clear chances from Ferras and Lamothe. The most notable opportunity was a shot from Loison that hit the post, while Soues Cigognes tried to advance, especially with two long balls to Fourcade.
FCPL gains confidence
The second half favored the home team as they quickly opened the scoring with Ferras heading in from Loison’s cross (1-0, 48th minute). Building on this momentum, Lannemezanais added another goal with Youssefi (2-0, 50th minute). These two goals left Soues football somewhat deflated. Darignac had two corner opportunities saved narrowly. The visitors tried to regroup with actions through Arbaoui and a cross from Rico, a shot from Salvador, all handled by Teyssier. Paës’ header from a corner almost hit the post. FCPL took control to secure a valuable victory in the ongoing championship. Cyrille Méhay’s team now sits in 10th place, just one point behind Soues Cigognes as they anticipate their next move to secure their position through maintenance.
