Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) confirmed on Wednesday that Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi will be out “for the coming weeks.” This announcement comes after Hakimi suffered an injury at the end of the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old player sustained a thigh injury just before stoppage time in the legendary match between the European champions and Bayern. As a result, Hakimi is expected to miss the second leg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, May 6 (9 p.m.), as well as possibly the remaining four matches of the season in Ligue 1.
No information has been provided regarding his availability for the World Cup (June 11 to July 19) with the Moroccan national team. Whether Hakimi will recover in time for a potential Champions League final on May 30 remains uncertain.
Additionally, PSG also reported that goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier suffered a thigh injury during training on Wednesday morning and will be receiving treatment in the coming weeks.
