Music Festival in Paris: these metro stations close from 4 p.m. this Sunday

Move around, there is no metro. If you want to go out to the stations located near Place de la République in Paris, you may not be able to do so. From 4 p.m., this Sunday June 21, 2026, several stations will be fermees “ due to several demonstrations ” linked to the Music Festival, reports RATP on X.

4–800 gendarmes and police officers mobilized

The stations Republic, Temple, Jacques Bonsergent, Daughters of Calvary et Goncourt will not be accessible. Furthermore, no correspondence will be possible at République, specifies the Régie. These bans will affect lines 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11. They originate in particular from the concert organized by La France insoumise.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s movement will hold festive events on the occasion of the Music Festival. If at first, the event had been forbidden for the Police Prefecture, the administrative tribunal of the author, considering that the “troubles are the public order invoked for the arrest not sufficient” justifiés ».

The security will be maximum Sunday in a context of heatwave and increased risks of drowning. In total, 4 800 police officers and gendarmes as well as 2 500 firefighters will be present in the capital.
