Arthur publishes a new book entitled Even the night doesn’t want me on May 27, 2026. Asked by readers of Parisian, the TV host and producer opened up about his relationship with his parents. In this autobiographical work, Mareva Galanter’s companion confides in particular about his father, who died just a few days before publication. The latter was ill.

But Arthur protected him from this reality. Indeed, the TV show producer hid his health from him. “My father, who I talk about in the book, is died ten days ago. He had time to read the book before its release. But I removed the pages that talked about him… because he hadn’t been told he was sick.”confided Arthur. To this harsh reality, Arthur added confidences about his mother’s state of health. The latter has suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for years, an illness which heavily affects their relationships.

Why did Arthur hide his father’s death from his mother?

Suffering from this terrible illness which impairs memory but also certain cognitive abilities, Arthur’s mother remains a joyful woman. In the eyes of her son, she remains a sparkling and inspiring woman despite the passage of time: “She’s fantastic. She’s a very funny woman, who loves music and dancing.but unfortunately she suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, even if she still recognizes me after a few minutes”explained Arthur in the columns of Parisian.

Wanting to protect her, Arthur decided not to tell his mother that his father was dead: “My mother doesn’t know that my father is gone. It’s crazy but, with my brother, we said to ourselves ‘what for?'” This moment would have been too painful for Arthur and his loved ones: “It would have hurt her for three minutes and then she would have forgotten. We live on a roller coaster.”

Arthur can rely on his wife Mareva Galanter, his great support

During these difficult times, Arthur was able to rely on Mareva Galanter. The former Miss France was very present for the father of her daughter. A support to which Arthur was keen to pay tribute: “If there’s a heroine in all of this, it’s my wife. She held the family at arm’s length for two and a half yearshe explained. In recent years, the producer has gone through trials. Arthur was particularly morally affected: “The children asked why I took naps in the afternoon when, usually, I worked like crazy in the office. I had become a zombie at home. Fortunately, they understood.” Then, the host took charge of his daily life again: “I’m well surrounded, I’m doing better than others, I even play padel! I’m not complaining, but there will always be challenges.” Life goes on.
