Tom Cruise, David Beckham, Paris Hilton… The stars unleashed in the stands of the 2026 World Cup

The 2026 World Cup officially started on June 11 and, already, the stands of the American, Canadian and Mexican stadiums are taking on the appearance of a red carpet. Hollywood actors, singers, football legends and sports personalities mingle with supporters to encourage their teams. As the Blues play their first match against Senegal in New York this Tuesday evening, the excitement continues to grow around the tournament.

The show is not only played out on the field. In Philadelphia, rapper Jay-Z created an event on Monday by attending the meeting between Ivory Coast and Ecuador. A few days earlier, in this same stadium, Travis Scott had also come to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere during the Brazil-Morocco match. In the stands, football fans also saw Paul Pogba, but also Zinédine Zidane accompanied by his sons. The former number 10 of the Blues was not the only world champion present: Robert Pirès, Marcel Desailly, Ronaldo were present. Former American football star Tom Brady was also one of the distinguished guests.

In Toronto, the atmosphere was just as electric. Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds spoke out on June 12 to support his national team during the match against Bosnia-Herzegovina. Very involved in sport in recent years (he is the owner of the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC), the actor was particularly enthusiastic among the Canadian supporters.

However, it is in Los Angeles that the casting is most impressive. At SoFi Stadium, celebrities have been following one another since the opening ceremony. Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber kicked off the festivities on Friday. A few days later, for the United States’ match against Paraguay, photographers immortalized a host of stars: Halle Berry, Paris Hilton, Owen Wilson, Sofia Vergara and Anya Taylor-Joy.

But it was above all Tom Cruise and David Beckham who attracted all the attention. The two friends followed the meeting from the VIP stands alongside Victoria Beckham. Earlier in the day, the American actor accompanied the Beckham family during the inauguration of the former England captain’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a highly publicized event.

The Blues enter the scene

This Tuesday evening, it is the turn of the France team to enter the competition against Senegal, in New York.
