When temperatures rise, the idea of locking yourself up for two hours in a dark room sometimes loses a little of its charm. Fortunately, there is a much more summery alternative: outdoor cinema sessions. And this year again, Ciné©Ligue will transform parks, squares and green spaces in Hauts-de-France into open-air projection rooms.
Cult films and blockbusters under the stars
Chaque été, Ciné©Ligue travels the region with his écran géant inflatable, its projectors and its deckchairs to offer free screenings in dozens of towns. And when it comes to programming, there is something for everyone. Those nostalgic will be able to see again ET the extraterrestrial or Back to the future. Animation lovers will be entitled to My Neighbor Totoro, Dragons, The Wild Robot, Lilo & Stitch or even Mufasa. As for those who prefer big productions, they can let themselves be carried away by Dune or La Méthode Williams. All in a rather nice atmosphere: often some entertainment before the screening, sometimes something to snack on site, and above all this little feeling of watching a film as if on vacation.
Lille, Villeneuve-d’Ascq, Lomme, Leers… the entire metropolis is concerned
Originally, the objective of CinéLigue was: allow residents far from large cinema complexes to easily access cinemas near their homes. Today, the meeting has become a summer classic in Hauts-de-France. More than fifty screenings are already scheduled until September in the Lille metropolis and throughout the region. What if the northern weather decides to act up? Don’t panic: fallback locations are provided in order to maintain the sessions.
Events not to be missed around Lille
Among the most anticipated sessions this summer:
🎬 Friday June 26 : Dune at Fresnoy in Tourcoing
🎬 Friday July 3 : The Wild Robot à Pocket
🎬 Friday July 3 : My Neighbor Totoro à Haubourdin
🎬 Tuesday July 7 : A little something extra à Seclin
🎬 Friday August 7 : Lilo & Stitch at the Parc de la Ramie in Seclin
🎬 Friday August 21 : Mufasa à Villeneuve-d’Ascq
🎬 Wednesday, August 26 : Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown At the Saint Sauveur train station in Lille
🎬 Saturday, Aug. 29 : Lilo & Stitch au Moulin Blanc à Leers
Suffice to say that there will be no shortage of opportunities to take out the picnic blanket.
A good excuse to enjoy summer evenings
We’re not going to lie: watching a film at sunset, sitting on the grass with a few friends, still has a little taste of vacation. And since the sessions are free, it’s also one of the best summer deals to occupy your evenings without blowing your budget. Between the great classics, family films and new releases, it’s hard not to find a screening that tempts you.
