It was an afternoon marked by the generosity and sensitivity that the students of the Florence-Arthaud de Rognes college choir offered to the residents of the Estelan nursing home.
With their show entitled La beauté du cœur, the young choristers knew how to touch their one-day audience.
Loud applause, emotional smiles, luminous looks, the residents showed all the pleasure they had in listening to these young voices united. Behind this great success, the patient and enthusiastic work of Carole Arquier, music teacher at the college.
Educational work
Throughout the year, she meets her students every week for regular rehearsals, accompanying them step by step towards their end of year performance.
The presentation at the Estelan EHPAD fits precisely into this framework, offering students a real stage, an attentive audience, and the precious experience of artistic sharing. “A beautiful moment of sharing between generations, where music broke down the walls between the college and the retirement home.”
The day ended in the most delicious conviviality, thanks to the establishment’s chef who had prepared a delicious strawberry for the occasion, much appreciated by all.
An attention which added an extra touch of sweetness to this afternoon already rich in emotions. This initiative wonderfully illustrates the college’s vocation to open up to its territory and to forge links with the local community. There is no doubt that this meeting will remain engraved in the memories of residents and students alike.
