Michel Drucker pays tribute to Bernadette Chirac and speaks frankly about the infidelities of her husband Jacques Chirac: “She knew…” – Télé 2 Semaines

Widow of the former President of the Republic Jacques Chirac, Bernadette Chirac died this Friday, June 5, announced her daughter Claude. Michel Drucker came out of silence on BFMTV to pay tribute to the former First Lady, who always remained close to her husband despite his numerous infidelities.

Seven years after the disappearance of his father, the illustrious Jacques Chirac, Claude Chirac announced the death of his mother, Bernadette Chirac, in a press release sent to AFP. The announcement of his death at the age of 93 immediately sparked a wave of emotion on social networks. Many people wanted to pay tribute to the memory of the former First Lady, starting with Michel Drucker.

Invited to react to the death of Bernadette Chirac on BFMTV, the host of Looking forward to Sunday particularly remembered a woman who was “extremely precise, brilliant, who knew the political world and deep France very well”. The octogenarian then spoke of the couple she formed for a long time with Jacques Chirac. A couple who were far from perfect.

Bernadette Chirac knew everything about her husband’s deviations

Despite all the love he had for his wife, Jacques Chirac was known to be a ladies’ man. The former President of the Republic cheated on his wife numerous times during their sixty-three years of marriage.

As Michel Drucker confided to our colleagues at BFMTV, the figure of the Yellow Pieces operation knew that her husband was unfaithful to her. “She wasn’t fooled,” he said. “She knew which ones were dangerous and which ones were not,” he adds, joking about the women Jacques Chirac met.

Bernadette Chirac never left her husband despite his infidelities

Despite her husband’s numerous infidelities, Bernadette Chirac remained with him until her last breath. Weakened by illness during the last years of his life, Jacques Chirac ended up passing away on September 26, 2019 at his Parisian home.

If the former First Lady was present at the private ceremony at Les Invalides, she was unfortunately not able to attend her husband’s funeral organized in the Saint-Sulpice church due to her health, as stated by Monseigneur Michel Aupetit.

François Mitterrand’s successor rests today in the Montparnasse cemetery next to his eldest daughter Laurence, who died three years before him following a heart attack at just 58 years old.
