This Sunday, American singer Pink electrified New York’s Radio City Music Hall for the 79th Tony Awards ceremony, which rewards the best in American theater and music hall.
A debut that Broadway will remember for a long time. For her very first participation as mistress of ceremonies at the Tony Awards, the equivalent of the Molières in France, Pink offered a spectacular opening number during the 79th edition, organized this Sunday at Radio City Music Hall, the legendary New York venue.
The American singer appeared suspended in the air, disguised as Peter Pan, before making several nods to the great Broadway musicals.
Accompanied in particular by actor Neil Patrick Harris, she quickly ignited the room before revealing the highlight of the show: a revisited version of “Lady Marmalade”, a soul disco song recorded in 1974, then covered in 2001 by the quartet Christina Aguilera, Pink, Lil’ Kim and Mýa for the film’s soundtrack “Moulin Rouge”.

For the occasion, the 46-year-old star wore a pink corset and an impressive feather train. Renamed “Leading Lady Marmalade”, the number brought together more than 170 artists on stage as well as a host of surprise guests, including rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Between aerial prowess, precise dance steps, humor and infectious energy, Pink offered a colorful show that left its mark.
