This cinema is under construction until October in Lozère, but screenings continue

THE works started in May 2026 at cinema Le Trianon, in the second most populous town of Lozère, Marvejols. But the sessions are taking place.

“ I confirm to you that cinema activity is maintained during the work period,” indicates Marion Breuiller, the general director of services for the community of Communes du Gévaudan. Occitanie News. The community of communes has in fact resumed in April 2022 the operation of the cinema located at 4 rue Paul-Mendras.

Extension works

This involves extension work to the building. No cinema room will be added to the only existing one, which offers 177 places and a program labeled art house. But a lot of improvements will be made for the comfort of visitors and those who work there.

The aim is in fact to allow a better reception with the development of a “more spacious and ergonomic” hall, but also to create technical and administrative premises, to renovate the heating system, insulate the attic or even make the building accessible.

The amount of work amounts to 331 709 € HT, with a state subsidy of €132,683, specifies the community of communes at Occitanie News.

A cut in September

“The only closure that will be imposed will correspond to the junction between the current building and the extension. The exact closure dates have not yet been defined but these should be in September 2026,” underlines Marion Breuiller.

Furthermore, throughout the duration of the work, traffic will be maintained around the site.
