Who is A6el, the young Swiss who is panicking the hip-hop scene

Originally from Renens (VD), he has a string of millions of listens, concerts and projects: a rising revelation on the French-speaking scene, A6el will also be on the bill at the Caribana Festival this summer.

He calls himself A6el, but his real first name is Angel. Originally from Renens, the young Swiss artist was not destined for a musical career. Everything changes when his psychologist stops following him. To express his thoughts, he then begins to record voice notes on his phone. Raw recordings that he ended up playing to his friends, convinced of the young man’s potential. They are the ones who created a SoundCloud profile for him to broadcast his first songs.

In 2024, A6el releases his first EP, Ride on the road to Meriviaavailable on Spotify. Very quickly, he developed a universe mixing melancholy texts and luminous productions. A graphic design student, he also pays particular attention to the visual aspect of his projects: his covers and clips, often filmed in his region, reflect this artistic sensitivity.

If several of his pieces are already enjoying great success on TikTok, notably Soleilwhich inspires its own trend on the platform, it is above all Bad Head which exploded his notoriety. In just one month, the title has accumulated nearly 4 million plays. In the process, A6el won the prize for revelation of the year at the Tataki Awards.

Since then, the rapper has released a new EP, Worse than at homeand multiplies concerts in French-speaking Switzerland as in France. With a clear ambition: to make a place on the French-speaking rap scene. Good news for his fans, he will be in concert on June 19 at the Caribana Festival. And we are already looking forward to being there.
