Arthur was the guest on Télématin this June 4, 2026. The host, who recently lost his father, took advantage of his time on France 2 to share a significant memory experienced with Mylène Farmer during a memorable live broadcast. In front of the show’s chroniclers, he recounted the behind the scenes of an incident that occurred during his show La Fureur. A moment of solitude in front of the pop icon that he still remembers today with great emotion.

A scene entrance that turns into a puzzle

Invited on the set of Télématin, Arthur returned to an anecdote which had a profound impact on him during his career. At the time, he hosted La Fureur at the Parc des Princes in front of nearly 50,000 spectators. That evening, Mylène Farmer was to open the show with a particularly spectacular arrival. The artist was supposed to appear from a trapdoor, wearing an elaborate dress. Everything seemed ready to launch the live broadcast. However, the moment Arthur announces his entry, the situation changes. “She was the first artist who had to sing. There were 50,000 people. We were live and she had to come out with a magnificent dress from a trapdoor,” he said.

A few seconds before the singer appears, the host receives unexpected information in his headset. Mylène Farmer is not ready to go on stage. The reason? Her dress got stuck in the trapdoor mechanism. Faced with tens of thousands of spectators and a live broadcast, Arthur must improvise. He then tries to furnish the antenna while waiting for the technical teams to resolve the problem. A particularly delicate exercise which left him with unforgettable memories. “She got stuck in the hatch […] I had to furnish in front of 50,000 people, the longest three minutes of my life!”, he confided with humor.

A new work and an assumed writer’s dream

Beyond this anecdote, Arthur also came to present his new book, entitled Even the night does not want me, published by Grasset. This work arrives only nine months after the release of his previous story, I lost a Bedouin in Paris. The host explains that he continued his writing work in a very personal approach. According to him, this new project is more like a newspaper than a classic book. He continues the story of his daily life and the events which marked the last two years of his life. “The first was the earthquake, the second was the aftershocks,” he summarized. Writing now occupies an important place in Arthur’s projects. The host does not hide his desire to explore other literary registers in the years to come. During his appearance in Télématin, he revealed that he had a very specific ambition: to write a romance novel. After experimenting with several artistic disciplines, from radio to television to cinema, he wants to take on a new challenge. “I would dream of writing a romance novel,” he confided. Arthur also claims to have already imagined an entirely fictitious plot. An idea that he hopes to realize soon through a future work.
