You know the adage: “A woman who changes her haircut is a woman who will soon change her life.” A month after having reached a plea agreement to avoid prison, following charges of “reckless driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs”, it is not Britney Spears who will say the opposite.

While the princess of pop, in the wake of her arrest on March 4, comes out of a new 21-day detox treatment (instead of the 30 planned) and now finds herself forced to consult a psychologist once a week, as well as a psychiatrist twice a month, she has undergone a surprising transformation.

Chris Appleton, Hollywood’s favorite hairstylist, whose famous clients include celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman and Christina Aguilera, shared the result on his Instagram account on Monday evening.

“As a child growing up in England, Britney Spears was the soundtrack to so many moments,” the hairstylist wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. “I never imagined, even in a dream, that I would one day find myself behind the chair (or rather, that she found herself behind mine, LOL) doing her hair. Some moments really come full circle.”

So, when we say “radical”, we are obviously not talking about the level of the zero ball of February 2007. But the change is still astonishing. Instead of the unruly hair that we have known her for years, the one that she takes great pleasure in shaking on her strange Instagram videos, the singer now displays perfectly straightened blonde hair, which is reminiscent of certain clips from the early 2000s or her years on stage.

In any case, the result provoked a shower of approving comments on Chris Appleton’s Instagram publication, notably from the star’s good friends, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. The latter notably burst into an avalanche of hearts to salute the collaboration between her beloved hairdresser and the pop star.

Kim and Britney, who have known each other for almost fifteen years, are still dating. Last November, the star of The Kardashians notably invited the singer to a girls’ sleepover with her sister, Khloé. “She’s a real doll. She’s the most adorable girl there is,” she said a few weeks later on the podcast “Khloé in Wonderland”, on January 28. “Her manager, Cade [Hudson]put us in touch, she wanted to come and we spent time together.”

Whether or not her friend Kim told her the name of her hairdresser, one thing is certain: while Britney Spears is coming out of a difficult period and must now deal with the consequences of her arrest on a daily basis, this change in look can only bode well for the singer. (mbr)
