“Be aware of the richness of the territory and the buildings”. This is what Perrine Foulon, project manager for the Kastell Kozh association, wishes to convey to the public. On the occasion of this weekend of May 30 and 31, 2026, organized around the medieval bestiary in the land of King Morvan, young and old are invited to come and rediscover the local cultural heritage, through medieval music.
A weekend full of history
From 3 p.m., this Saturday, May 30, parents and children can go to the Bains de la Reine museum (Guémené-sur-Scorff) for a workshop designed around the theme of medieval bestiaries.
“The objective is to stroll through the territory of the country of Morvan and discover what is hidden through the sculptures and the buildings of the period,” explains the employee of the association, responsible for the promotion of heritage. A workshop for creating sculpted hourglasses will also be offered.
Then, from 4 p.m., families will be able to attend, within the museum grounds, a musical conference organized by the Arcambole ensemble: “We will present the register of the medieval bestiary period as well as the instrumentarium of the period,” develops Cécile Pierrot, coordinator of the medieval music center.
“A great cultural wealth”
This Sunday, May 31, a guided tour will be organized at 3 p.m. at the Saint-Fiacre Chapel (Le Faouët). The location was not chosen at random: “It’s the perfect place because the sand pits in the chapel represent the bestiary era well,” says Perrine Foulon.
Finally at 4 p.m., the Arcambole troupe will perform in the chapel for a concert mixing period music and animal representation.
“We want to show that there is great cultural wealth, both in terms of heritage and music,” specifies Elie Barbeau, director of the music school of the country of King Morvan, based in Faouët. According to him, this weekend will also be an opportunity to highlight local artists “predominant in transmission”.
The entire event is open to all, without reservation.
