There will be a lot of people at the Peipin chapel (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) this Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. for the second episode of the season during which we will hear the purity of singing through time. Indeed, no less than ten choristers (seven women, three men) from the Éclore ensemble from Apt (Vaucluse), will perform in the company of the four concert musicians from the Castellane ensemble (two violinists, a cellist and a clarinetist who had played at the Sisteron conservatory in the winter of 2025).
All this under the direction of the dynamic Sophie Faure Beaulieu. The program is quite simply highly anticipated and extremely varied.
Overview of classical songs
We will hear an excerpt from Magnificat by Henry Purcell, great English composer of the 17th century sung a cappella by the mixed choir, the When he gaveVivaldi’s Nisi Dominus performed by a women’s choir accompanied by two violins and a cello, or the first movement of the quartet in E minor by Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn (sister of the famous Felix Mendelssohn), without forgetting several folk songs Hungarian for female and mixed voices or songs by the composer Gustav Holst (1874-1934) accompanied by the clarinet, violins and cello.
This evening promises to be a flamboyant overview of singing through time and styles.
