The release of the new Harry Potter series is slowly but surely approaching and fans of the saga are champing at the bit. To make up for the wait until Christmas, HBO Max continues to drop a few crumbs here and there. The latest extract has just been revealed this week – and the scene is legendary.

It’s an understatement to say that the time will seem long until Christmas and the long-awaited (and dreaded) unveiling ofHarry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stonenext adaptation of the adventures of the young magician and his comrades at Hogwarts, available in series form. As a reminder, the first trailer was released at the end of March.

Un moment clé

However, the platform was not going to stop there and let witchcraft enthusiasts stand still for another seven months. This Monday, HBO split a sugar to soften the painful wait of fans, by publishing a summary of the most anticipated releases of this year, from emblematic sagas to essential dramas, including its new creations.

We discover in particular extracts from season 3 of House of the Dragonavailable starting next month, from the fourth season of The Gilded Agewhose official release date is not yet known, or even The Man Will Burnan original HBO documentary series premiering this year.

But it was obviously a few seconds at the very end of the advert that panicked Harry Potter fans: “Mr. Potter,” whispers a voice in the background. “I believe we can expect great things from you. Let’s see who you really are.”

These words are spoken by none other than Garrick Ollivander (played here by Anton Lesser), one of the most renowned wand makers in Diagon Alley, London.

A very essential moment in the saga, since you have undoubtedly not forgotten that it is in this shop that young Harry, still uncomfortable in this world of magic that he has just discovered, buys his wand containing a phoenix feather.

However, the only other copy in the world to contain a similar feather is that of Lord Voldemort, presumed dead or missing since he inflicted his scar on Harry and murdered his parents, ten years earlier.

Suffice to say that it is not really these seven seconds of extract which will permanently appease our burning curiosity – and that HBO has every interest in revealing other extracts soon to keep us in suspense until Christmas.
