On May 15, Flavie Flament took to her Instagram account to announce that she had filed a complaint against Patrick Bruel for rape. Quickly, the host received the support of several personalities such as the former Miss France Valérie Bègue.
Flavie Flament accuses Patrick Bruel of having raped her in 1991 when she was 16. Many celebrities quickly gave him their support, like Faustine Bollaert, Sonia Rolland, Laure Manaudou, Marie-Ange Casta, Sarah Mortensen and Valérie Bègue. Miss France 2008 even shared a testimony in favor of the former presenter of “Télématin”.
The ex-beauty queen commented on Sunday on an Instagram message of support for Flavie Flament, relayed by actress Andréa Bescond: “He was president of the jury during my election. I saw it. I have absolutely no doubt. I believe all the women who had the courage to speak out. And I encourage others.”
On December 8, 2007, Patrick Bruel chaired the jury of the election of Miss France 2008, of which Valérie Bègue won the crown. Rugby player Christophe Dominici, host Carole Rousseau, comedian Dominique Farrugia, actress Elisa Tovati, producer Orlando and Alexandra Rosenfeld, Miss France 2006 were also part of the jury for the 78th edition of the beauty contest.
30 accusations and three complaints for sexual violence
In total, Patrick Bruel is accused by thirty women and targeted by three complaints for sexual violence in France and one in Belgium. Always presumed innocent while justice carries out its work, Patrick Bruel published a denial this May 17 in which he affirms that his relationship with Flavie Flament was “neither violent, nor constrained, nor devious” and that there was “neither rape nor drugs.” In a more discreet way, personalities such as Sylvie Vartan and Claudio Capéo supported the artist by providing a “like” to his publication.
