It was in the magnificent chapel of the François-Tosquelles hospital center that the Terre de Peyre choir came to perform in concert on Saturday May 9, under the direction of choir director Éric Silve. Around a hundred spectators gave an ovation to this ensemble made up of amateur singers.

From ancient music to gospels

This choir, created in 1988, brings together around fifty choristers of all ages, mainly coming from northern Lozère. The Terre de Peyre choir welcomes all people, without any distinction, wishing to sing. She has chosen to have a varied repertoire, from contemporary French songs to ancient music, including traditional world songs, gospels and sacred music…

Éric Silve, the choir director, noted: “This church is magnificent, very contemporary but superb, where it is very pleasant to sing, and with the public who filled the church, this gives the acoustics a superb breadth. This is our first concert of the season, then we will go to Le Buisson, to Saint-Sauveur-de-Peyre, to the Fête de la musique in Aumont, Saturday June 21, and we are organizing a meeting with four choirs from the department on Sunday July 6. Here, in Saint-Alban, for our first, everything went well, the singers were happy and I am delighted.
