For its 2026-2027 season, the Filmoscopie association has made an unprecedented choice. That of returning to a theme already explored in the past.
The films screened at L’Aigle (Orne) will once again be filmed, around generational shock and parent-child relationships.
A snub to the press
A return which has nothing to do with a lack of inspiration, insists President Jean-Louis Beauvais. The idea was born after a previous article mentioning the fact that “young people shun a certain cinema”.
A vision deemed “a little reductive” by the association.
We do everything we can to attract young people. Since we can’t necessarily bring them physically, they will be on the big screen!
Already addressed at the beginning of the 2010s, the theme today takes on a whole new dimension.
A youth that is no longer told in the same way
“At the time, the films chosen spoke of an unhappy childhood due to a lack of love,” recalls Jean-Louis Beauvais. Fifteen years later, the issues have evolved.
“Today, we are going to talk about too much love, overprotection. It is a youth who seeks to emancipate themselves. The reasons for the shock are no longer the same.”

The six films selected this time therefore explore family conflictsacross different cultures and generations. Sexuality, politics, relationship with authority… So many themes that will run through the new programming.
On the program from October
- Life first of Francesca Commencini, on the 14th of October;
- Lady Bird by Greta Gerwig, November 18th;
- Elephant of Gus Van Sant, on December 16;
- Play with fire from Delphine and Muriel Coulin, January 20, 2027;
- Go ahead by Milena Aboyan, 10 March 2027;
- Wild fig tree seeds by Mohammad Rasoulof, April 7, 2027.
The program was revealed during the association’s general meeting, organized at the end of April in the presence of around fifteen people, including several municipal elected officials, including the mayor Véronique Louwagie or the deputy for culture Didier Cousin.
An association that seeks to renew itself
The general assembly also made it possible to take stock of the past season. Filmoscopy currently counts 41Â members, with an average of 28.5 members present at each sessionto which are added, each time, approximately eight non-member spectators.
The contribution remains fixée à 35 euros l’annéeor less than six euros per session. The association’s financial results are considered “positive”.
The discussions also focused on the future. Should we change the day of screenings? Go from Wednesday to Friday? For now, nothing will change.
On the other hand, something new will appear this season. Members of the association will now take turns presenting the films. A way, again, to renew perspectives and bring movie evenings to life in a different way!
