On the program: an afternoon of live music, improvisations, Mediterranean tales and walks in one of the most soothing spots in the metropolis.
A musical immersion in the heart of the Jardin des Figuiers
Direction Mosaic, the garden of cultures à Houplin-Ancoisne, this Sunday, May 17. Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., several meetings will punctuate the afternoon in a setting that smells like vacation. At the Jardin des Figuiers, the company Les Toupies invites visitors to discover and handle all a series of instrumentsÂ: darboukas, kalimbas, tambourines, cowbells, acoustic guitar… The idea? Improvise together around Arab-Andalusian rhythms and Gnawa blues. A fairly rare, ultra-sensory experience, where both children and adults can participate.
A concert between traditions and trance
At 3 p.m., place for the Fakir trio, carried by oriental, Mediterranean and contemporary influences. Violin, saz, guitar, double bass… the musicians mix styles and create an almost hypnotic atmosphere. Between oriental melodies, more modern grooves and traditional inspirations, the concert promises a real sonic journey.
Tales that smell of the Mediterranean
Then at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., a change of atmosphere with the company La Vache bleue, which will take visitors into tales from Greece and Italy. Funny stories, wonderful tales and little philosophical fables mingle in the Mediterranean Terraces, in the middle of the garden. The kind of simple, suspended moment that we love when the sunny days return.
A good excuse to (re)discover Mosaic
And honestly, even without the event, Mosaic is already well worth the detour. With its gardens inspired by world culturesits artistic installations and its large green spaces, the park is one of the most underrated spots around Lille as soon as the weather is nice. So you might as well combine business with pleasure.
