As a couple in the city as well as on stage, Victoria Dauberville and Mathieu Forget hypnotize the public by playing with emptiness and defying gravity. Impressive in their art but very discreet, they only evoke their romance through their choreographies.

On the rooftops of Paris, a young woman in a white tutu, with a crown on her head, dances in the arms of her partner, carried by the captivating voice of Céline Dion. “Let us dance above the great voids, let our breaths guide us, our bodies in unison,” sings the Quebec diva. The scene is taken from the clip for his new title, Let’s danceunveiled on April 17. Classical dancer Victoria Dauberville and her companion, Mathieu Forget, are the stars. If other couples appear, we especially remember their captivating aerial performance and their passionate kiss at sunset, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

Double vertigo

In life too, Victoria and Mathieu love each other and dance together all over the world. Their unique story is born from a double dizziness, that of the love that we all experience, imperceptible but very real, and that, more concrete, of the emptiness that they tame daily. Never without her white tutu, Victoria Dauberville shares videos of her exploits on her Instagram account followed by more than 400,000 people. We see her defy gravity by dancing at the top of the Pic du Midi, at more than 2,800 meters above sea level, doing pointes in the middle of the desert or on the bow of a ship in the middle of the icy waters of Antarctica. Absolutely incredible, this latest sequence created a buzz on social networks at the time of its broadcast, in February 2025, and today has more than 70 million likes. Some Internet users found it so surreal that they accused the ballerina of having used artificial intelligence. The scene was actually filmed by Mathieu Forget, from a safety zodiac. “With the moving water and the slight zoom added in the video, several elements could give the impression of an AI montage,” he explained, reports the Belgian site RTL Info.

Mathieu Forget was initially at his side to photograph the melting of the glaciers during a cruise. Victoria’s impromptu performance left him speechless. “The contrast was just magnificent between this softness, this lightness, this elegance and the raw, very hard side of the place. There couldn’t be anything more beautiful,” he marveled a few months later at the Loopsider microphone.

Claire Chazal: “My anti-stress thing? Classical dance, which I practice 2 to 3 times a week”

The thirty-year-old is however difficult to impress. Nicknamed “The Flying Man”, he became known thanks to photos and videos of him levitating, his signature movement.

Son of tennis player Guy Forget, Mathieu first followed in his father’s footsteps before branching out into dance and photography. It is because he is also in perpetual movement, and because he puts himself on stage in unexpected places, often urban, that his art echoes that of Victoria Dauberville, a ballerina who dynamites the codes of classicism. Did the two find each other first artistically, then lovingly, in this quest for poetry carried by their bodies in suspension?

In video, Dorothée Gilbert’s confidences: “The technique of classical dance requires going against the nature of one’s body”

Undeniably, if we are to believe the countless photos and videos of their choreographies shared on social networks, the only elements giving a small idea of their complicity. Victoria and Mathieu expose their artistic duo, but say nothing about their romance, undoubtedly to protect themselves. We just know that they met in 2021 (but not under what circumstances) and that they agree to pose together at events, such as at the Roland-Garros photocall in 2022, or at the premiere of the film Dog and catà Paris, en février 2024.

Often interviewed as a duo, they never talk about their love story, preferring to concentrate on promoting their artistic projects. Guests on the set of It’s up to you At the beginning of June 2025, the ballerina and her companion only talked about the Victoria show, Classic?, a modern ballet mixing classical, contemporary and hip-hop dance. Mathieu Forget is obviously never far away since he accompanies her on stage with other dancers, without ever stealing the spotlight.
