“Mask Singer”: someone very close to Jean-Jacques Goldman was hiding under the Mummy costume

The Mummy was unmasked on the set of “Mask Singer”, on TF1, on May 8, 2026.

For the new prime time of season 9 of Mask SingerFriday May 8 on TF1, viewers were able to discover what personality was hiding under the Mummy costume.

In a tie with the Sanglier at the end of the evening, it was not saved by the public vote, after the two candidates had to interpret My freedom to think by Florent Pagny.

After several clues revealed about this Mummy – the word “band” in allusion to her participation in Les Enfoirés, or the filmography of Sophie Marceau in reference to the film Pacific Palisades whose theme he wrote – the Welsh guitarist and singer Michael Jones ended up being unmasked.

Now aged 74, he is friends with Jean-Jacques Goldman, with whom he collaborated musically. He notably co-wrote the lyrics of I give you in 1985, which became one of the biggest hits of Goldman’s career.

A mystery investigator disguised as Potato

For the other revelation of the evening, we were able to discover Monsieur Octopus in the Potato costume. The comedian had put on this disguise to perform Let’s love each other alive by François Valéry. After this unique performance for him this season, he then joined the jury camp, as an exceptional mystery investigator.

Remember that last week, disguised as a Hedgehog, it was the singer Jason Derulo who was unmasked, perpetuating the show’s tradition of offering an international star to its cast each season.
