On Friday, May 15, starting at 6:00 p.m., Valery Orlov, “the great Russian voice,” will perform in concert at the church of Barbotan-les-Thermes.

Russia is rich in many treasures, one of which is world-renowned: its deep bass voices, capable of transporting the audience to this vast and distant land of legends. A country that has always nourished the imagination and made entire generations dream. Over the centuries, these voices have gained their recognition, just like Italian tenors.

Valery Orlov, a former member of the Red Army Choir, is a lyric singer, pianist, and composer, trained at the prestigious National Higher Conservatory of Odessa. He returns to Barbotan to enchant the audience with the depth and beauty of his bass voice, and take them on an unforgettable musical journey through Russian, Ukrainian, Gypsy, Orthodox, and romantic songs – all in the united Slavic soul.

His exceptional voice, like a delicate brush on a canvas, invites the audience to a unique emotional experience. The program includes Russian romanticism and masterpieces of sacred music from around the world.

During this journey, the audience will also have the opportunity to discover traditional instruments, including the legendary balalaika, queen of Russian music, presented by Tatiana Zolotoukhina, a graduate of the Orenburg Conservatory of Music. Tickets will be available on-site one hour before the concert.
