On April 21, 2026, the Livres & Musiques festival will return to Deauville (Calvados) from April 23 to 26, 2026, for its 23rd edition focusing on creation and artistic dialogue. The event at the Franciscaines allows words and music to come together through a lively and accessible program. The team promises “four days full of emotions.”
Several musical readings will be featured at the festival. Starting on April 23 at 8 p.m., Maissiat will present a reading of Goliarda Sapienza’s works, accompanied by Françoise Gillard from the Comédie Française, Carole Martinez, and Johanna Nizard.
The following day, on April 24, a musical reading titled “La plume sous le masque” by Jérôme Garcin will take place. This family-oriented event will include readings by Anne-Marie Philipe and Jérôme Garcin, along with musical interventions by Clément Garcin.
On April 25 at 7:45 p.m., there will be a conversation with journalist Denis Cosnard featuring songs by Patrick Modiano performed by Maissiat.

The festival will feature a book signing event on April 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., where attendees can meet 30 authors, including Arnaud Cathrine, Agnès Desarthe, and Thomas Fersen.
The Livres & Musiques prize will be awarded on April 25 at 6 p.m., followed by a concert tribute to the winner by Léonor de Récondo and Anne-Marie Philipe.
The festival will conclude on April 26 with a concert and discussion on rebetiko music, followed by a performance of Raymond Queneau’s poems turned into songs.
Additionally, on Saturday morning, there will be a literary radio broadcast organized by the FabLab des Franciscaines.
