Since the beginning of the year, a new association offers accessible training to everyone to discover and practice various professions in cinematographic creation: framing, sound recording, editing, writing, and lighting.

This group of enthusiasts, named Bigorre en Scène, aims to open the doors of cinema to as many people as possible. They are already involved in highlighting a territory that they want to enhance. Its president, Romuald Falguières, is familiar with this world: “I am a former professional videographer and I stopped in 2015.”

No retirement inactivity for him in front of the Pyrenees: “I am passionate about image and video, and I wanted to continue with new personal projects. We are currently working on the flora of the Pyrenees. We started filming in Payolle, under the snow, before the awakening of nature. We film all the stages until the end of the year. The goal is to tell the human interventions that have modified the landscapes, especially with livestock.”

To structure the association, the president is surrounded by a treasurer, Annie Alvarez Falguières, and a secretary, Élodie Heyraud.

An association active on all fronts

To keep Bigorre en Scène alive, members are welcome, but the association also offers its services to companies and individuals wishing to immortalize an event, make an announcement, or create a promotional video.

“We produce videos, short films, and offer services in lighting, sound recording, editing, calibration, and color grading. We also offer training to our members on all aspects of cinema. No prior knowledge is required: beginners or experienced individuals, everyone finds their place. During shoots, we also recruit actors and extras. We conduct ground and aerial drone shots with professional equipment,” explain the enthusiasts.

Recently, the association worked on a video clip for the “Angel Lovers,” a duo from Lourdes: “We made a video for one of their songs. We also produced an advertisement for an association in Dax, Music All Coffee, a bar-cabaret. We spent almost a whole day capturing the essence of their show.”

Other projects are underway, including one with the National Park on flora, as well as a future documentary on cheese making in mountain pastures planned for 2027.

An open project for everyone

Still in development, the association is currently self-financed: “The goal is to generate income to invest in equipment.”

An appeal is made to all those who wish to join the adventure: “I have always done everything myself, but today I would like to surround myself with motivated individuals, ready to learn the techniques and tricks of the cinema professions.”

Based in Bagnères-de-Bigorre and its surroundings, the association welcomes all profiles: “Whether you are a beginner or experienced, young or old, everyone is welcome. Together, we make short films, clips, and documentaries in a friendly and creative atmosphere.”
