The substantive debates, as is often the case at the RN, risk going to the ace. On pensions, however, it is urgent. For a month, the far-right pair has been blurring the line on the legal age of departure. The head of the frontist group in the National Assembly says she is still attached to the return to 62… but wants it to be financeable…; the president of the party finds the very notion of a limit obsolete and refers instead to annual contribution payments.

Behind these technical quibbles, there are incarnations. Jean-Philippe Tanguy is one of them. Architect of the RN’s economic program, a populist both subtle and thunderous, the deputy for the Somme crystallizes the internal quarrels of his movement. A fortiori when it is a question, in short, of the solubility of the social aspect of marineism in globalized capitalism. In mid-April, he offered a counterexample to this temptation.
During the first working seminar for 2027, the guests – Le… Pen, Bardella and their very first circles – listened to him make the diagnosis of what had more or less worked during the 2022 campaign. The one where Éric Zemmour made the RN candidate waver on a line very reactionary and, above all, very liberal – then ended up relegated to a single-digit score.
