The excitement of the ballot boxes gives way to budget discipline. Following the municipal elections in March, the new municipal council of Montayral will convene for a public session on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the town hall.
This session is the true financial baptism of the term. The agenda is dominated by the examination of the 2025 Single Financial Account and the vote on the 2026 Original Budget. The latter will concretely reflect the initial orientations of the team elected for the upcoming year.
A highly anticipated moment for the officials will be the setting of local tax rates, which will determine the property tax burden for 2026. In addition to the accounting aspect and the allocation of subsidies to associations, the elected officials will have to decide on a more complex issue: the dispute related to the GCSMS – South-West Family Welcome, requiring the establishment of a preventive financial provision. Finally, the installation of the new governance will continue with the appointment of delegates to the Fumel Vallée du Lot intermunicipal authority and the renewal of the Direct Tax Commission (CCID).
