Syremis Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel medicines for mental health disorders, appointed Aaron Koenig, MD, Chief Medical Officer.
Koenig, a psychiatrist by trade, is recognized as a drug development leader whose experience includes neuropsychiatric disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. Namely and notably, this area of expertise encompasses Alzheimer's disease.
Chief Medical Officer Experience
Prior to his appointment at Syremis, Koenig held the same Chief Medical Officer post at Syndeio Biosciences and Delix Therapeutics. At Delix, he oversaw development of a range of novel neuropsychiatric drug candidates, according to information provided by Syremis.
Previously, Koenig led multiple neuropsychiatry programs at Sage Therapeutics, where he had held numerous leadership roles. Among the programs Koenig oversaw at Sage were candidates for treatment of cognitive impairment associated with neurodegenerative disease.
Earlier in his career, Koenig worked as a clinical investigator for the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
Syremis Welcomes New Team Member

Syremis' lead program, ST-905, is a dual M1/M4 agonist currently in Phase I development for schizophrenia, among other conditions.
