  • High humidity levels will make it feel more like the 100s in both metros
  • A cold front will trigger isolated severe storms mid to late week

There's a chance of storms in the morning in both St. Louis and Kansas City, but any wet weather will taper off by late morning. Sunshine will prevail for the afternoon as temperatures climb.

This is the first time this year that we will feel like the triple digits.

Severe threat

After morning storm chances, conditions will dry out and sunshine will return on Tuesday. By Wednesday, a cold front will approach and bring a return to thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening.

A low-level severe threat, 1 and 2 out of 5, will be in place in the region. Isolated storms could produce damaging winds and hail. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out as well.

Heavy rain could also accompany storms, which could lead to isolated flooding.

The front slows down upon arrival and brings another chance of severe weather on Thursday.
