A video featuring Nithin Kamath has gained traction on social media after the Zerodha chief found himself answering questions about popular Gen Z internet slang during a light-hearted exchange with a colleague.
The clip was shared by Gowri Bhat Gandotra, who tested Kamath’s understanding of several online expressions commonly used by younger internet users.
The conversation began with a discussion about age. When Gandotra asked whether he was a millennial, Kamath replied that he was 46. She then jokingly referred to him as a “boomer boss†before correcting herself and calling him “Gen Xâ€.
The discussion soon shifted to internet vocabulary. Gandotra asked Kamath about the meaning of the term “rizzâ€, used to describe someone with charisma. Kamath admitted he did not know the answer and asked for an explanation.
She then moved on to the word “simpâ€. Kamath guessed it was slang for “simpleâ€, but Gandotra corrected him, telling him that the term is used for someone who gives excessive attention or admiration to another person, often in pursuit of affection.

The pair also discussed the phrase “clock itâ€, with Gandotra demonstrating the gesture associated with it. Both attempted to act it out, though Kamath appeared uncertain about the expression’s exact meaning.
Kamath fared better in the final round. When asked about the word “slayâ€, he correctly identified its usage. Gandotra later told him, “You got 1 out of 4 so not bad.â€
The video quickly drew reactions online, with several users praising Kamath's candid responses and willingness to participate in the challenge. One user wrote, “This is so cool. Make him do more of these.â€
Another user commented on Kamath's reaction to learning the meanings behind the terms, while others described the interaction as entertaining and said they were surprised to see this side of the Zerodha chief.
