A woman was killed in a shooting at a Durham apartment complex early Monday morning.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to a shooting around 2 a.m. in the 2800 block of Rochelle Street, near Wake Forest Highway.
Police said they found a woman who had been shot at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker arrived to an active scene early Monday. Police were putting down evidence markers outside the apartment building.
WRAL News is working to learn if a suspect is in custody.
Hours earlier, a man inside a vehicle was shot near the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Anderson Street in Durham. Police said he also had life-threatening injuries. The scenes, which are about 8 miles apart, are not believed to be connected.
Over the weekend, there were two other shootings in Durham. On Friday, a woman was shot on Century Oaks Drive, and on Saturday a woman was shot on Hoover Road. Both women were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In the Hoover Road shooting, a man was also injured by flying glass during the incident.
