Will Ferrell and his lookalike, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, met up during Ferrell’s Saturday Night Live monologue. Smith, pretending to be Ferrell, joked about hosting the show before Ferrell himself appeared. The two playfully bantered, with Ferrell joking about Smith being the musical guest when Paul McCartney was actually performing. In the end, Smith did join McCartney on stage as a surprise drummer for two songs.
Ferrell and Smith have been aware of their resemblance for years, engaging in drum-offs on TV and at events, and even performing together.
