Tottenham Hotspur faced more injury setbacks as Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons were forced off during their 1-0 victory over Wolves. Solanke suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, while Simons appeared to hyperextend his knee in the second half, ultimately requiring a stretcher to leave the field.
Xavi Simons is now ruled out for the rest of the season with a reported ACL injury, which will also see him miss the World Cup with the Netherlands. The news was confirmed by Simons on his Instagram page.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi provided an injury update after the match, stating that Solanke’s injury is muscular, while they are assessing the severity of Simons’ knee problem. De Zerbi expressed concern over the injuries, as both players are crucial for the team.
The team faces a tough run of fixtures in the Premier League, including games against Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea, and Everton. The absence of Simons will be a significant blow, as he played a key role in recent matches.
Injuries have plagued Spurs throughout the season, with players like Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, Pape Matar Sarr, and Destiny Udogie also sidelined in recent weeks.
