13 alleged Crips gang members due in federal court Monday

On Monday, 13 alleged “Crips” gang members are due in federal court in Lincoln.

Each gang member was indicted on federal charges in November — including murder. The men include: Gregory Jerome Bahati, Malik D. Bahati, II, Johnny L. Chatmon, IV, Deshawn P. Jackson, Jaqueris J. Allen, McKeith M. Bingham, and Kevin Rashad Pierce.

Others indicted are: Lamar D. Glover, Kavion Wright, Cameron J. Williams, Darnell L. Matthews, Noah McIntosh, and Antrevion McNichols.

Prosecutors say they carried out shootings to protect gang territory in Omaha. Many of the victims had no gang ties.

The hearing is set for 3 p.m. Monday.

Child sex assault suspect arrested in Lincoln to appear in federal court

A man suspected of sexually assaulting a child is also set to appear in federal court Monday.

Justin Dueling, 41, was arrested in March and booked into the Sarpy County Jail on a felony charge of sexual assault of a child under the age of 14. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

Omaha’s Eppley Airfield gets over $300K from FEMA

Omaha’s Eppley Airfield will be getting some assistance from the federal government to help repair damage.

A release from FEMA says the Omaha Airport Authority will be getting $318,000 for building exterior, interior, and exterior site repair and replacement.

The damages being repaired stem from damage sustained in the Arbor Day tornado outbreak, FEMA confirmed with First Alert 6 on Sunday.

These funds come as part of a $400 million package for Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska announced on Friday.

FEMA says it will continue to work closely with the four states to support communities through the state-led recovery efforts.

Voter registration deadline is Monday for Nebraska primary

On Monday, there is an important deadline regarding the upcoming Nebraska primary election.

Monday is the last day for Douglas County residents to register to vote using any method other than coming to the Election Commission office in person.

Nebraska governor to hold news conference Monday

Gov. Jim Pillen is set to hold a news conference Monday to announce a statewide initiative.

Pillen will be joined by Veterans’ Affairs Director John Hilgert for the news conference. It starts at 9 a.m. Monday in Lincoln.

Bellevue police investigate car break-ins near Olde Towne

Bellevue Police are investigating two car break-ins in a neighborhood south of Olde Towne over the last two months.

The first break-in happened on March 1 and the second was reported Saturday morning. Police said both incidents occurred in the same neighborhood.

Neighbors in the area declined to go on camera. One couple said they were alerted to one of the break-ins through their Ring doorbell app. Other neighbors said they were unaware the incidents had happened.
