The City of Lille adopts five measures to relieve the purchasing power of families
Lille Mayor Arnaud Deslandes listed these five changes in a video he posted on his Facebook page. This represents a shortfall of around €750,000, said the elected official, “but for you, that means €750,000 that you will not have to spend”. Here they are.
- Paid parking : “the most modest” will benefit from September 1st an annual subscription at the price of €1.
- School catering : prices are frozen for the coming year, and free meals will be extended to a greater number of beneficiaries, “subject to means testing”.
- For the single-parent families : in the context of school meals, after-school and extra-curricular activities, all prices will be lower, before “the implementation of a global plan”.
- Free museums for young Lille residents, up to the age of 25.
- Aide à la licence sportive : it applied to Lille residents under 11 years old, this age limit is revised upwards. She is now with Lille under 18 years old.
