Tuesday was held the general assembly of the Municipal Office of Culture (OMC) in the room of the old town hall in the town of the commune, under the presidency of Valérie Julien and in the presence of Chantal Cordelier, mayor of the commune.
The president was responsible for drawing up an activity report for 2025, a year which made it possible to carry out a certain number of projects dear to those responsible such as the event “Les Brogéliens ont du talent” and the concert with Frédéric Bobin which closed the year 2025. “After last year’s aperitif tale, we innovated this year with an “aperitif dance which was a great success, in terms of attendance but also in atmosphere…” recalled the president, before highlighting “The arc on the go” which brings together an audience different from other WTO events, then listing all of the 2025 events with its three aperitif songs, 3 concerts, a play theater…
“The aperitif chant is still as successful as ever and is now well established. We broke our attendance record this year…” continued Valérie Julien.
The future of the WTO on the agenda
The future of the Municipal Office of Culture was then discussed. Indeed, following the municipal campaign and a reflection carried out on this occasion, the idea was retained of creating only one “culture” entity in Breuil.
Entity which would bring together the library, the “Le Breuil en fete” event and all the cultural events previously supported by the OMC. “We will gain in efficiency, by pooling, without the cultural policy of the municipality suffering or experiencing differences…” maintained the president of the WTO, after having pointed out that those responsible for the Municipal Office had always taken care to separate the decided programs in the Culture Committee and the programming planned by the WTO. Chantal Cordelier spoke of coherence: “I find that the library had to take its place in cultural programming, so a single entity seemed normal to me.”
As for Valérie Julien: “The culture assistant can no longer be president of the WTO! HAS”. After discussions, it was decided that an extraordinary general meeting will be planned for January 2027.
The election of the new WTO office was then discussed. “As it is customary not to combine the function of deputy for culture and president of the WTO, I am not renewing my candidacy for a new mandate…” added Valérie Julien. Two candidates have offered to lead the OMC office, in order to manage the association until the next general assembly. It was Philippe Méreau and Carole Billard who decided to carry out their mission as co-presidents. The 2026 program was to follow and Valérie Julien recalled the three events already past and those to come. Chantal Cordelier later congratulated the OMC for its varied programming and she congratulated the volunteers: “The logistics were complicated this year with the Morambeau room…” recalling that the formalities following the fire in the school restaurant, were progressing slowly and that the current situation was not going to change before the end of the year or the beginning of 2027. That is to say one year after the fire.
