Once is not customary, to get a change of scenery, in the coming days, it will be better to walk with your eyes glued to the ground than your nose in the air. For the twelfth edition of the Toulon international street painting festival, the HO company, a collective of artists specializing in ground drawing and mural painting, will give from ocean air to bitumen. Ephemeral works, destined to disappear after a week, “this is what makes our art so charming“. With some specificities.

The public at the heart of creation
If the festival will celebrate award-winning artists over the years (Jean-Marc Navello, Roger Boubenec, Chesfear, Edith Donc, Jean-Erick, Michael Kirby…), the emphasis is particularly placed this year on the public participation. And the valuation of “the artist in everyone ». Sur les deux « îlots de création » que sont la square from the cathedral and rue Emile-Zola, Friday, and the quai des pêcheurs, on the portSaturday, everyone will be invited to add their touch, with chalk, to the gouache works of the professionals.
Young people at the forefront
Saturday, spacesfree expressions and collaborative workshops, supervised by seasoned artists, will be offered to the youngest, who will be divided into two age categories: the “little crabs” (3-10 years) and the “cool sharks” (11-17 years).
Furthermore, for the first time, around twentychildren from the Departmental Children’s Center seront intégrés à l’événement. « It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring creative bubbles to these young people, who sometimes have chaotic lives.estimates Joëlle Tabournel, the founder of the festival. I hope this will help bring them elsewhere.» Accompanied by the artist Chesfear, they will be invited to create a large collective fresco.
A 3D fresco measuring 4 by 7 meters on the port
Jean-Marc Navello will be in charge of the highlight of the event. The artist with an extensive career, who has been practicing ground drawing since 2010 and specializes in the creation of anamorphosis (3D) frescoes, will start this Thursday. And will achieve, until Saturday, a spectacular work measuring four by seven meters« with an optical effect which annihilates the effect of perspective“. And carrying a message related to the theme, “to alert people to the dangers that the cetaceans around us can suffer ”.
To bring these ephemeral works to life, the company invites the public “to take photos and “tag” with the word “FISPT”so that they can be found on the site ”.
