Nearly 800 schoolchildren gathered to participate in the 5th edition of the Modern Games organized by the City of Lunel, with the support of Lunel Athletics, Fencing Pays de Lunel and Basket Pays de Lunel.

The Ancient Games are returning to the Colette-Besson sports complex, changing their name: they are becoming the Modern Games. Objective: create a link between CM2 and 6ᵉ. The first being future 6ᵉ, they can thus meet college students who already know their future establishment and, with the Modern Games, make friends who will guide them in their next entry into college. These sporting events are also an opportunity for students to come together to surpass themselves.

Registered as part of the Terre de Jeux 2024 label, these modern Games are taking place throughout this week. After a welcome in the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the teams will complete 8 events in rotation. To allow even more sharing, the meal time will be in picnic mode. Resumption of events from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a rotation of teams over 8 workshops followed by relays. At the end of each day, the winners are revealed.

The tests:

  • Basket 3×3
  • Long jump / Quiz
  • Javelin Throw / Dodgeball
  • Sprint / Tir à l’arc
  • Ultimate précision / Saut à la perche
  • Précision pétanque / Tchoukball
  • Fight / Quiz
  • Foot précision/ Lancer
  • Rugby touch
  • Final Relay

CM2 and 6ᵉ are mixed in each team in order to create a spirit of sharing and create links between the different levels. Thus, on June 15, 16, 18 & 19, nearly 800 students will participate in the competition focused on sporting events, but also cultural events.
