The InCircus festival brings the Rochebelle district of Alès (Gard) to life for its tenth edition. Between inclusion, popular culture and free shows, the event celebrates a circus accessible to all until June 13.
When summer arrives in the Cévennes, the former working-class suburb of Rochebelle is the first to take on beautiful and bright colors. This Thursday, June 11, at the PAB museum park in Alès (Gard), the tenth edition of the InCircus festival was launched.
Accompanied by a beautiful fanfare resounding throughout the neighborhood, Sylviane Manuel thanked all the curious people but also the actors and volunteers for this “édition d’étain“, as Catherine Larguier said, for the town hall of Alès. The manager of the Glassworks of Alès, national scene as a reminder, has, in verse, campaigned for a dialogue, and a culture more exchanged than ever. “Because culture is priceless, but since it is no less important.“With her, Patrick Malavieille, representing the Gard departmental council, was delighted with the scale and influence of the event.”There are too few festivals in the Gard, which are in the neighborhoods ‘City policies'”.

With Aurélie Génolher, for the Occitanie Region, the two representatives hammered home the necessary usefulness of culture. Some municipalities in Gard and elsewhere prefer, on the contrary, to turn off the tap. “They say that culture costs too much? Well let’s try ignorance, and we’ll see in ten years!“The circus, this “political art”, will be freely accessible until June 13, for everyone, as long as you make the trip. It was, that evening, inaugurated by Les Petites Épopées of the Le Doux Supplice group, in the Brouzen car park.

A local festival that mobilizes local actors
This inauguration evening was served by two young men dressed in a simple but very effective white shirt with a black bow tie. They were Thomas and Mathéo, two students from the IME de Rochebelle, and more particularly from the IM Pro. With Jérémy, their guide, they appreciated being able to participate in the event having previously taken the time to practice in the premises of the establishment. A collaboration which, for Jérémy, illustrates the common values of the festival and the IME for the inclusion of people with disabilities.Chacun à sa place !“

On site, a shop offering some goodies but also a little prevention. A refreshment bar, of course, with or without alcohol. As well as several catering outlets: Johanne’s buckwheat (and vegan) pancakes; the quick meal from Mama’s Tapas; as well as the beautiful fries from Mama’s Fritas.
