The programming of the Vanves Theater (Hauts-de-Seine) for the 2026-2027 season has been confirmed, the town hall indicated in a press release on Monday June 8, while the announcement of the cancellation at the beginning of the month of all shows, apart from those for young audiences, had sparked a stir among players in the sector.

“The municipality finally chose to confirm the season” and the city “will open a consultation on its cultural policy in the autumn”, details the town hall. “There has never been censorship, nor budget cuts (…) There has been and there still is a legitimate question which is to know whether Vanvéans find themselves sufficiently in our cultural policy”, UDI mayor Bernard Gauducheau, re-elected in March, justifies himself in the same press release.

An approved stage of national interest for “art and creation” for dance and contemporary writing through the arts, the Vanves Theater is a place of reference, particularly for its long-standing support for young artistic teams, to whom it offers work residencies, co-productions and distribution of the shows created.

An email where the town hall announced “the cancellation of all planned shows”, except programming for young audiences, had pushed the Syndeac (employers of artistic and cultural companies), the Association of National Choreographic Centers and the Association of National Choreographic Development Centers (ACDCN) to express their “Très live uneasiness.”
