For financial reasons, the town hall of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, which has moved to the RN, has chosen to withdraw nine shows from the Pyramid programming for the 2026-2027 season. 19 shows will still be offered including a concert by Laurent Voulzy and two plays awarded at the Molières.
“We want to avoid increasing the municipality’s deficit”. For financial reasons, the City of Bagnols-sur-Cèze has decided to withdraw nine shows from the Pyramid programming for the 2026-2027 season. Mayor RN Pascale Bordes had already raised the subject during the last municipal council which was held on Friday June 5 in the multicultural room.
“The cost of these shows is €172,000, which is difficult for the municipality to bear. Furthermore, these shows would have brought in at best €116,000 for the community, which therefore makes a deficit of €56,000”detailed Mayor RN. Among these withdrawn shows, the councilor specifies “that they had not been signed. So there is no deletion. These are shows which had been considered and which were not selected”.
Pascale Bordes assured that she had “awareness that we were not making money with the cultural aspect and that the responsibility of elected officials is to adapt to their municipality. In Bagnols, we cannot afford to have excessive losses, we must limit them”.
Over the past season, La Pyramide posted revenues of nearly €228,000 for a programming budget of €345,000, or a deficit of €117,000, which is quite a bit. even “encouraging for new equipment and a very young room“, for Nicolas Maury, head of the city’s cultural affairs and festive events department.
The mayor added that this money saved could be reused elsewhere such as for the energy renovation of schools for example. “whether it will be necessary to invest much more in this area”.
Laurent Voulzy headlines
If nine shows were removed from the programming, La Pyramide will still offer 19 shows during the 2026-2027 season, from September to next May. Between theater, concerts, shows for young audiences or even one woman shows, there will be something for all tastes.
“The Pyramid offers an eclectic proposition, this is one of its great qualities. Its beginnings are promising with 346 subscribers, now we must continue to retain them. This is why we wish to develop a plural programming”underlines the mayor of Bagnols.

To open the season, the cultural hall will welcome the famous Laurent Voulzy, Friday September 25 at 8:30 p.m. “We wanted to launch the season with a popular artist who guarantees us to fill the room. Laurent Voulzy will sing his greatest hits with six musicians around him. We know that there is a great appetite among the Bagnolese public for this type of artist. It worked very well with Alain Souchon and Louis Chedid”indicates Nicolas Maury.
Plays awarded at the Molières
Friday October 2, the Avignon Provence national orchestra will offer a concert dedicated to Beethoven. The day before, the cultural hall will open its doors to two groups of 500 students who will be able to attend a dress rehearsal free of charge. “It’s a good initiative to open rehearsals to young audiences, who don’t necessarily have access to classical music. It’s a great opening in the hope that it generates a few vocations”adds Pascale Bordes.
On October 9, La Pyramide will welcome Alain Chamfort for a musical conversation. “He will resume his successes on the piano, then at the same time, a journalist will offer him a short interview about his career. The public will also be able to ask him questions about the ending. We had already done it with Pierre Richard and it worked well”underlines Nicolas Maury.
In terms of plays, the Bagnolaise cultural hall will present classics such as Les Misérables by Victor Hugo or Marius by Marcel Pagnol. There will also be two pieces awarded at the Molières 2026: The trial of a lifetime et The song of the lions.
Finally, La Pyramide is also proud to be able to welcome two artists from Bagnolais. The teacher Bénédicte Bousquet and her humor show “The comedian teacher” then David Blanchard and his show “Time is an illusion”which combines mentalism, illusion and choreography.
