It was on a sunny day that the “Au fil du temps” club recently took more than fifty members to discover Aubrac with its landscapes and wide open spaces. Participants were able to stroll through the botanical garden, observing the floristic diversity of the Aubrac plateau and discovering a succession of emblematic and edible plants, including more than five hundred species of wild plants from the Aubrac massif. The visit to the domerie allowed us to discover the uniqueness of this hospitable and charitable institution created to welcome travelers on pilgrimage routes. A lunch break at Buron d’Aubrac also allowed participants to taste the unmissable aligot accompanied by a steak of beef. The afternoon was devoted to a visit to the Maison d’Aubrac, focused on its culture, nature and gastronomy. the audiovisual area, a film on the big screen retraced the history of the plateau with its burons and its customs. The end of the day continued by traveling across the Aubrac plateau with a stop at Laguiole, in front of the emblematic bull trudging on the village square.
