This Saturday, June 6, the City of Millau inaugurated its new temporary exhibition “Mirages and miracles”. To discover until November 28.

Bringing life to paintings and stones is the challenge taken up by Claire Bardainne and Adrien Mondot. The artist couple is exhibiting in Millau from June until November 28, “Mirages and Miracles”, which mixes visual and digital arts. “The stones come alive like poetic choreographies, illustrates well François Leyge, Deputy for Culture. The idea is to rediscover heavy and inert objects, thanks to the creation of “Mirages and Miracles”. I salute the view they bring to these things that we find in the depths of the earth.”

The exhibition is indeed surprising. On the one hand, Claire Bardainne’s talent is reflected in the paintings on display. The work with Adrien Mondot takes place when the tablet makes the curves dance and offers a new look at the works. This trained computer scientist has developed an application to offer this second view of the works exhibited in the room of the Millau museum.“It is a work that combines drawings, lithographies, sculptures and digital arts”, supports Romain Merisckay, the director of the culture department at the city of Millau.

More than the paintings, the two artists created mixed compositions, with real stones which also come to life when the tablet places its lens on them. For the entertainment, the couple also highlighted their skills as choreographers. Adrien M. and Claire B. also have a live performance company with which they tour throughout France. They had come to Millau with this cap, this time to the theater of the Maison du Peuple.

“Mirages and Miracles” offers another shade from their wide palette. The exhibition, now in Millau, has also toured across Europe. Before taking up her place at the Millavois museum, she was in Switzerland in Meyrin. If the director of the cultural service of the city of Millau suggests“let the work breathe initially”, difficult for visitors to leave the tablet inactive to bring them to life thanks to augmented reality.
