The commune of La Chaize-le-Vicomte is in grief. Jean-Luc Macé died last Tuesday at the age of 73carried away by the illness against which he had been fighting for several months.
His disappearance leaves a big void, particularly within the football club and the Vicomtais Art and Heritage associationthe two pillars among its commitments.
An entire personality dedicated to local football
Described as a authentic manJean-Luc Macé left no one indifferent.
The local football club, to which he was deeply attached since its creation in 1992, remembers him in this way.  He could be grumpy, prickly, critical, but also affable, cheerful, sarcastic… and sometimes all of that at the same time. ”
For more than thirty years, he gave generously of his time and energy.
“Always a volunteer and available, he hosted sixte tournaments on the microphone or behind the decks, and never missed a match on Sundays at the edge of the pitch. Elected and member of the office at Harmonie Mutuelle, he notably used this network to organize Easter courses for young people, while being actively involved in the club’s participation in the prestigious Mondial de Montaigu. »
A lover of culture and heritage
In 2021, following the death of Daniel Brémand, Jean-Luc Macé took over the presidency of the Art and Heritage Vicomtais association.
A man of ideas and perpetual projects, he notably shared his love for music. From jazz to classical, he regularly frequented concert halls, from Quai M in La Roche-sur-Yon to Luçon Cathedral.
It is to him that the Vicomtais owe the arrival, every summer for five years, of the “La Clef des Champs” orchestra.
The last thank you from the community
Faced with this disappearance, the mayor, Aurélien Douillard, wanted to express the gratitude of the entire municipality.  When it’s time to say goodbye, the town also wants to say thank you. On behalf of the municipal council, we send our most sincere thoughts to his family and friends. »
