The short film produced by the nursery, CP and UEEA classes of the Beauregard school in Millau as part of the Ponte las pilas project is broadcast on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of twinning between the towns of Millau and Sagunto in Spain.
For a week in April, director Gian-Maria Leroy took part in a first residency at the Beauregard school in Millau.
He worked with the students on the creation of a short animated film around the Spanish-speaking countries studied by the students: Spain, Mexico and Bolivia. The students wrote the texts, the vocabulary, drew all the plans.
With Gian-Maria Leroy, they recorded the 3000 images constituting the film as well as the 300 sound files of the voice-overs, music and sound effects. The film mixes French and Spanish languages.
This first animated film is part of the series project entitled Ponte las pilas carried out by the Beauregard school and Aporia Culture in Millau, the objective of which is to discover the languages spoken at the school and in the neighborhood.
For the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the twinning between the towns of Millau and Sagunto (organized by the twinning committee this week), this film was presented on May 28 during a school day at the Parc de la Victoire.
For the general public, it will accompany the next screenings of the Hispanic film club on Monday June 1 at 2 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., then on Tuesday June 2 at 6:20 p.m. at the Millau cinema before the screening of the film Romeria by Carla Simon.
