At the origin of the concept of Touillon de culture, a simple desire: to offer a friendly event around culture and creative leisure. “We set up the operation the first time to see if it would work, and we only had good feedback,” explains Alexandra Bouillot, president of the committee. “The idea of a theme around books and paper was new.”
Initially thought of as a book clearance, the event quickly expanded its universe to everything related to paper and crafts: drawings, postcards, photographs, creations, without forgetting vinyl records which also find their place among the stands. This year, the organizers are innovating again with a parade of accessories made from paper: hats, wigs or handbags will liven up the day in a festive and quirky atmosphere. On the literature side, four local authors will come and meet the public: Christophe Bienvenu, Jacques Guillaume, Louisa Besson and Séverine Létienne. Laura Mahieu will also be present for a signing session around her sixth work.
Five-minute mini-lectures
Among the new features are also five-minute mini-conferences open to all. “Everyone will be able to speak for a short time,” specifies Clarisse Louvet of the committee. Several themes will be proposed, from the Barnum effect to math, including the history of paper in Fontenay. Residents wishing to participate will also be able to register. The day will be punctuated by musical entertainment, as well as crosswords on the ground and a workshop for creating personalized badges.
