The Max-Rouquette college students competed in an intense final in the Saint-André-de-Sangonis multipurpose room.

What is the longest river in France? Which gas is most present in the air? What letter means 500 in Roman numerals? Here are in substance the questions asked Thursday evening, May 21, by Mathieu Rieutord assisted by Delphine Dabbag, during the final of the grand quiz of the champions of Max-Rouquette college.

In front of a crowded multipurpose room, the 12 finalists competed in 4 rounds on various themes, like a television game. During the final stage, the two students neck and neck were separated by an additional questionnaire, at the end of which Giulian won against Enzo.

A Parisian stay won by the students

A final played for fun since the twelve candidates have already won their pass for a Parisian stay.

“This evening closes the general culture project carried out throughout the year with the 4th year volunteers. For this 3rd tournament, we had around fifty registered. The candidates reviewed different themes: mythology, chemistry, cinema… and challenged during meetings organized during the lunch break”explains Delphine, history and geography teacher.

From June 1 to 4, college students will celebrate their success together in Paris where a dense cultural program awaits them.

Throughout their stay, they will discover, among other things, the Pantheon, the Grand Rex, the national assembly, Montmartre, while enjoying a boat ride and an exceptional day at Roland-Garros. Highlight of the stay: recording the show Everyone has their say. During this participation, the students hope to win a dedication from the host Sidonie Bonnec, having co-written Manuel de curiosité générale won at the time of the final.

“It is a great project which will allow students to have a complete overview of the capital. The FSE and the AS of the college contributed to the feasibility of the trip but also the Rotary club Cœur d’Hérault, which we thank for its support”specifies Mathieu, mathematics professor.
